We Bought a House!
Goodbye, apartment! Hello, house! Y’all - I can’t tell you how excited I am that Mr. San Diego and I finally have a house of our own. If you’ve been following me on Instagram then you already know and this is slightly old news, but I still wanted to to blog about it!
We started looking for houses early this January because I really want a puppy and we couldn’t accommodate one in our apartment. Yes, we started house hunting because I really, really wanted a dog and that meant needing a place with a yard. After a bit of searching, we found a new development in South Fort Worth that was absolutely perfect. We signed for our house on the spot and got to watch it being built from the ground up! Having to wait three months was agonizing but our house was scheduled to be finished on the exact day our lease was up, making the wait work out in our favor. With everything going on with Covid, we didn’t know if something would happen to impact the process for us, but we were incredibly fortunate that everything worked out just fine!
We drove out to the house almost every weekend to take a snapshot of the progress. It was so fun for us to see it come together and document the process! Not only were we finally leaving apartment life behind, but we were getting a home that was brand new and all ours! No more sharing walls, no more angry neighbors, no more carrying groceries up to our 4th Floor apartment.
Now that we are all moved in, we have a lot of work to do! Boxes to unpack, puppy to rescue, walls to paint, puppy to rescue, furniture to buy, puppy to rescue, and all that other fun stuff that comes with first-time homeownership. It has been so fun for the both of us and we can’t wait to turn this house into a home!
