Meeting Tieghan Gerard | Half Baked Harvest Book Signing!

YOU. GUYS. YOU GUYS!!! I met Tieghan Gerard!!!!

If you’ve been following me for a while, you’ll know that I’ve been cooking my way through the Half Baked Harvest Super Simple cookbook!

You can check out what I’ve made so far here: karinadiscovers.com/halfbakedharvest

The author, Tieghan Gerard, was in Dallas this past weekend to sign copies of her third and newest cookbook, Half Baked Harvest Every Day. There was no way I would miss out on the chance to meet her. Her cookbooks inspired me to start my own Julie & Julia style project, and my confidence in the kitchen has grown exponentially because of it. Plus, I thought it would be really, really cool to post a picture of us together on my blog!

the book signing

Don’t I look positively gigantic next to her?! The perspective of the photo above makes me giggle, but it’s still very exciting that I was able to take one. Tieghan was incredibly sweet and signed all three of my books. Even with my very obvious nerves and rambling, she was nothing smiles and kindness!

The event was held at the Williams Sonoma in the NorthPark Mall in Dallas, and I was so impressed with how many people were waiting in line. Everyone who purchased a ticket received a copy of the new book, and it was such a cool atmosphere to be in! Even though I went alone, I immediately made a friend in line and it made the experience all the more exciting for me. It was a great experience, and I’m beyond happy that I was able to attend!

The Newest Book

Of course, once I got my hands on Every Day, you knowwwww I had to make something immediately. Just as with Tieghan’s other books, everything looks absolutely delicious, and the photography and styling are absolutely stunning. #goals

I decided to start on page 26 with the Jerusalem-Style Egg and Cheese Bagel with Green Zhug! I had no idea was zhug was, nor had I ever had a Jerusalem-style bagel. Since I love discovering new things (hence the blog name), it felt perfect to start with. It turned out great, and I’m even more excited now to keep cooking!

cheers! xoxo
